Pulled Pork....
OK Kids, here's my idiotproof (I tested it) recipe for pulled pork in a slow cooker.
Great for a rainy day with a lot of football games on!
About This Recipe
| Yield: | 8-10 |
| Active time: | 30 minutes |
| Total time: | 6-7 hours |
| Special equipment: | Slow Cooker |
Ingredients
3-4 Lbs. of Pork Butt
12-24 ounces of root beer (the real deal, not diet)
Salt, pepper, medium size onion, minced garlic
1 or 2 bottles of your favorite BBQ Sauce
Procedures
Put the pork in the slow cooker, add seasonings and onion. Pour the root beer in, until it's about 2/3's up the side of your butt.
Cook it for 5-6 hours depending on the heat of your slow cooker.
When it starts to get really tender and shred, dump it into a colander draining off the root beer.
I use 2 forks to shred it, putting it back into the crockpot. Add your favorite BBQ sauce, stir. Let it go low and slow for another 30-60 minutes.
When it's good to go, (you'll know), butter up some hamburger or Kaiser Rolls, brown them on a griddle, scoop the pork on and serve with fries.
