Weekend Cook and Tell: Your Go-To Markets
Welcome back to the Weekend Cook and Tell. Every Wednesday we leisurely peruse the food sections of various national newspapers in search of inspiration for a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.
This week it seems like there are bountiful markets everywhere, and we're not just talking about fruits and vegetables. Casey Parks of The Oregonian rounded up favorite grocers from around Beaverton including everything from a Middle Eastern halal butcher shop to an Indian market stocking gooseberry and basil juices, and an Asian specialty market with all of the exotic mushrooms and seafood you could ever want.
And back here on Serious Eats Chris Hansen has gorgeous snapshots of Korea's O-Il Jang or five day market. All of this market talk got us thinking about our favorites markets and the meals that they inspire.
For this week's challenge we want to hear about your favorite markets and the great meals that you shop for there.
