Is there a substitute for baking powder easily found in Europe?
I'm staying with a family in Italy and the kids would like me to teach them how to make pancakes. It seems that baking powder is a crucial ingredient. With the language barrier, I can not decipher whether they have baking powder in Italy, I don't think they do. Is there a substitue I can use or a recipe for pancakes that does not call for baking powder? Or pancake mix, because there is none of that either? Any and all advice is welcome!!
