Weekend Cook and Tell: Stone Fruit Fest

We're back this week with another summer-inspired edition of the Weekend Cook and Tell. Every Wednesday we check out the food sections of various national newspapers in search of inspiration for a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.

We certainly didn't need the Los Angeles Times' David Karp to tell us that stone fruit is at the height of its season but his latest Market Watch column certainly had us wishing we could stop by one of L.A.'s well stocked farmers' markets to pick up some West Coast yellow mango-nectarines, and an intriguing hybrid known as a Spice Zee nectaplum.

Regardless of where you're located, chances are your local markets are brimming with the gorgeous stone fruits that are the inspiration for our latest challenge. This week we want to see what you can do with these seasonal gems. Whether you're putting up batches of plum jam, baking peaches into bubbly cobblers, or charring sweet-tart nectarines sauce your grillables, we want to hear all about your most thrilling stone fruit creations.

Show us photos of your peachiest creations on Photograzing (make sure to include "Cook and Tell" in your submission title) and tell us about your recipes here! If you'd like to blog the experience, please leave a link in the comments below. We'll post a round-up of your stone fruit recipes, ideas, and experiences next Wednesday.
