Cooking for the Toothless, Part 2
One of the things I miss most about having teeth is eating those open-faced roast beef and roast turkey sandwiches that constitute one of the classic offerings at truck stops across the US. So, here's an item that I call "Open-Meat Sandwich Sans Meat".
About This Recipe
|Active time:||10 mins|
|Total time:||2 mins|
|Special equipment:||1 plate, 1 bowl, 1 mug, 1 knife, 1 spoon|
3 slices fresh Italian bread or toasted ordinary white bread
1/2 tbsp room-temperature butter
1/2 can beef, turkey, or chicken gravy
If you're using Italian bread, cut off the crust.
Spread the butter liberally over the bread, then cut the buttered bread slices into bite-sized squares, and place in bowl.
Put gravy in mug, and heat in microwave until hot.
Pour gravy over bread pieces, and serve.
