So I've returned from Ecuador--it's an incredibly beautiful country with incredibly beautiful people.
We were at a marketplace and stopped at a small restaurant. I told my husband that I thought the soup was potato and lamb. Whoops....translation failure. It was potato and lamb intestines. Sorry honey, but he ate it. Of course, he had already eaten a variety of meat on a sticks (sold on the bus!!).

It was almost as funny as the look on face of the poor old woman I sat next to on the bus when I told her that I would like to just eat up all the little children because they are so cute.

Any translation failures? I'm hoping I'm not the only dumb butt.
