Infused Tequila too spicy... help needed!

My boyfriend and I have been on an infusion kick lately. We originally made limoncello for a gift, and luckily we made a double batch, because is it was so good, we kept some for ourselves. We are also doing lime-mint vodka.
The tequila is our problem. We put 3 jalapenos in 750ml of tequila for 2 weeks. My bf loves spicy, but this is too hot to drink! We tried adding another half bottle of plain tequila but it didn't really change the spiciness.
Should we keep diluting with tequila until it mellows? Or should we add a fruit, like pineapple. I'm not sure if that would help.
Any suggestions on what to do?
