Greenmarket Crud

I see @burgerblogger posted a similar thread a year ago, but to revisit. Eating locally is great and all, but I've been to Union Square a few times recently and the stuff is junk. Even now in spring/summer. Half the place it seems is still devoted to apples, which of course aren't in season and have been dragged out of cold storage. I get that they may not have the space to make everything lookgreat, but they pile greens on top of one another, thus crushing half the stuff. It's tough to say this because I support the effort, and I'm willing to pay extra, just not for crummy stuff. What say you?
