Thanks to those who commented & gave me feedback on my Secret Sisters Revealing, party menu. The Sangria, Gazpacho, Spinach Quiche and Quiche Lorraine, Salad (mixed baby greens with apple, cranberry, cucumber, feta & walnuts w/lemon viniagrette), Croissants, and Tiramisu for dessert were a tremendous success!!! Received raves from all. And, it was soooo much fun to do.
So, here's my question and dilemna.....We ate, laughed and drank and laughed and drank some more; enjoying each other's company, revealing antics and presents. Then came my gift.....I know for a fact that it was given with love, but it is UGLY and soooo not me! It was intended to add a bit of "whimsy" to my life. How does one handle receiving serving pieces that you have no intention of using or displaying? I entertain regularly and my friend (gift giver) frequents my home regularly. Do I hide and drag them out when she's here (but I seriously don't want to use them) or secretly return them or what??? I don't like to sound less than gracious and I do not want to hurt her feelings, but I can't stand my gifts.
So, let's all have a cocktail and ponder.....Your thoughts and help, please!
