Hi all,

I live in a small place in NYC. My gas stove does not have a vent or a hood of any type. I've now set off the smoke alarm 3x this week by cooking things that would never set the alarm off in other places. There are no usable windows in my kitchen/living room. We have one window and that window opens into the apartment's garbage room so I will not open it in fear of odors or vermin. I have a small fan going but that also isn't doing it.

Any suggestions on how to stop smoking myself out?
