Welcome to Weekend Cook and Tell. Every Wednesday we leaf through the food sections of various national newspapers in search of inspiration for a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.
Well, it's official, spring has sprung and with it, the first CSA deliveries of the season. Those who signed up for their weekly boxes of produce when there was still a chill in the air have been eagerly awaiting their first delivery of spring veggies for some time now. Your season-starting box of goodies most likely included scallions, asparagus, and other early spring treats, all young, green, and ready to be transformed into a light, fresh, and seasonally appropriate meal.
For this week's challenge we want to hear about your CSA cooking adventures. One of the most exciting and challenging aspects of joining a CSA is cooking with unfamiliar vegetables, you know, those crazy greens, odd beans, and misshapen squashes that have you hitting the cookbooks hard in search of inspiration. We want to know what it's in your box and more importantly, what you made with all of those great vegetables.
Show us photos of your CSA feasts on Photograzing (make sure to include "Cook and Tell" in your submission title), and tell us about your recipes here! If you'd like to blog the experience, please leave a link in the comments below. We'll post a round-up of your most locally sourced recipes, ideas, and experiences next Wednesday.
