Help! Have my dried figs gone bad?

So I just opened a package of dried figs. The first one I pulled out was what I'm used to: slightly soft, dry, wrinkled. But the next few were sticky and wet! The liquid (and the bag) just smell like delicious figs, but I'm worried that the liquid may have harbored bacteria. The packaging states that the figs are made with no preserving agents, so I don't really know what would prevent these sticky figs from going bad. Does anyone have any insight?
