ISO Crockpot mac and cheese
Someone has asked me, specifically, for a good mac and cheese recipe that uses the crockpot. I've never made mac and cheese in a crockpot, and never even considered it. I looked online and found a whole lot of recipes, some of which seem awfully suspicious to me. I can't imagine wanting to cook noodles in a crockpot for 6 hours ... but maybe it works?
I don't want to pass along a recipe that I haven't tried, but I don't want to invest in 20 pounds of good cheese to test things from people I don't trust. So I'm leaving it up to you. Do you have a crockpot recipe that you know will work?
The criteria is that it should have "good" ingredients, which is defined as real cheese as opposed to Velveeta, processed American, or cheese soup. The addition of ham is a plus, but not required.
And yes, this person has an oven and a stove and could make the mac and cheese without a crockpot, but I'm honoring the request as it came to me. Any ideas?
