Community Chatter Tab?

Just wondering if anyone would like the idea of a tab specifically for off-topic conversation? I've seen that sort of thing before, and it keeps people from trying to wedge food/drink/cooking into a question that's mostly unrelated. Seriousb mentioned that 2 humorous topics were recently removed. I didn't see them, so I don't know how off topic they were (or how interesting) but I've seen people trying to squeeze their question to fit the allowed limits, sometimes with greater or lesser success.

And to be honest, there have been times I've thought that it would be nice to get feedback from my friends at SE about something, but I knew I was stretching the boundaries too far. I think it would make more sense to have an off-topic "chat" tab rather than to see people post things like "I'm buying a car. I will use it to transport groceries in the trunk. What are your opinions on this car vs. that car for transporting groceries?" In theory, that would be on topic, but we know the question isn't really about groceries.

It would also make it easier on the moderators, because instead of removing a conversation that was verging on off-topic, they could simply move it to a different tab.

There would still need to be some parameters - no wars over politics or religion comes to mind. But if someone wanted to ask for migraine cures, for example, they wouldn't need to say "whether it's food or something else..." they could simply say, "I suffer from migraines. What eases your symptoms?"

What do we think?
