Welcome to Weekend Cook and Tell. Every Wednesday we peruse the food sections of various national newspapers in search of an inspiration for a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.
No matter where your football allegiances lie, chances are this Super Bowl Sunday is going to be an enjoyable one, at least food-wise. And if you haven't already planned your menu this week's food sections practically bursting with game day recipes. The New York Times's spread includes Melissa Clark's wonderful dips and Kim Severson's pork cracklings, The Oregonian shared five chili recipes, and The Houston Chronicle rounded up everything from hearty tailgating recipes to lighter snacks that live up to game-day expectations. And of course, we haven't exactly been skimping Super Bowl menu ideas either—edible stadium, anyone?
For this week's Weekend Cook and Tell challenge we want to hear about your Super Bowl spreads. Are you planning on frying up all-you-can-eat wings, laying out the chips and celery sticks for a plethora of dips, or simmering a stadium-sized batch of chili? Tell us all about your game day eats right here!
Show us photos of your Super Bowl spreads Photograzing (make sure to include "Cook and Tell" in your submission title), and tell us about your recipes here! If you'd like to blog the experience, please leave a link in the comments below. We'll post a round-up of your game day recipes, ideas, and experiences next Wednesday.
