Vermont takes on MacDonald's and sorta wins
Vermont has a state law that if an item being sold has the word "maple" in it then it must contain real maple syrup.
MacDonald's has a new Oatmeal with fruit and maple, and of course there's no maple in it. Now all (28) MacDonald's in Vermont have to supply a packet of maple sugar with the breakfast oatmeal - when asked. But apparently the owner of the franchise has to foot the bill for this, not MacD's.
I hope this will encourage other people to take on the big guys.
What would you like to see fast food franchises have to do in your state?
