Our sense of smell is powerful. I too find that the sound of some foods being prepped, fried in the case of frying chicken, popped as in popcorn being popped are so pleasant to me. As I was slicing cucumbers last night I thought of melon. Cucumbers smell melon like to me, but I thought of the sound of a watermelon as it cracks whilst being cut.
