Avoiding a Mess

I have finely honed my cooking methods to achieve the least possible clean-up. I line my cookie sheets with wax paper or aluminum foil so I never have to wash them, for example.

I love to cook but like everyone I know I can't stand cleaning up afterward. What are some of your favorite mess-avoidance methods? Any 'dirty' little secrets that you're willing to pass along to a budding housewife (like myself) and/or lazy person who is looking to keep things clean?
