Welcome to Weekend Cook and Tell. Every Wednesday we poke around the food sections of various national newspapers in search of an inspiration for a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.
We've recently caught word that after 13 year of writing The Minimalist column for The New York Times dining section Mark Bittman is ending the column. But for all of you Bittman fans out there, there's no need to worry—he's merely moving over to a new gig for the magazine and op-ed section. And according to his tweet, there will still be plenty of recipes and videos from the man formerly known as The Minimalist.
For this week's Weekend Cook and Tell challenge we though we'd pay homage to Bittman by asking all of you to share your favorite recipes from his columns and books. We know plenty of folks who cut their culinary teeth on How to Cook Everything, and countless vegetarian who'd be sunk without their copies of How to Cook Everything Vegetarian.
We'll be forever indebted to Bittman for sharing the recipe for No-Knead Bread with us and introducing us to 101 Simple Meals Ready in 10 Minutes or Less. This week we want to hear all about your favorite Bittman recipes.
Show us photos of your Bittman-inspired dishes Photograzing (make sure to include "Cook and Tell" in your submission title), and tell us about your recipes here! If you'd like to blog the experience, please leave a link in the comments below. We'll post a round-up of your Minimalist recipes, ideas, and experiences next Wednesday.
