Weekend Cook and Tell: Resolute Menus
Welcome to Weekend Cook and Tell. Every Wednesday we page though the food sections of various national newspapers in search of an inspiration for a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.
During the first week of January losing weight and eating better are tops on most people's lists of New Year's resolutions but more often than not these good intentions lack staying power. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has some helpful tips to keep you resolutions going for a little longer than the end of this month. To help ease you into a routine of healthy cooking the Post-Gazette recommends testing out a a handful of healthy new recipes a week—the logic being that if you enjoy eating these new creations, chances are you'll enjoy cooking them. Another helpful hint is to end the meal with something small and sweet signaling that the meal is over and helps reduce late-night snacking.
For our Weekend Cook and Tell challenge this week, we want to hear all about your food-based resolutions and how you plan on sticking to them. Whether it's opting to forgo takeout for more home cooked meals or a solemn vow to drink less soda, we'd like you to share the delicious and creative ways you are going to be staving off cravings and stick to your New Year's resolutions.
