Tacos: Crispy or Soft?

I'm from California, which means I've been exposed to both Taco Bell and more traditional taquerias. I grew up on crunchy shelled tacos both at home and via fast food. In recent years, however, I've tended toward soft at local taquerias.

Which do you prefer? Crunchy or soft?

And BTW, those marketed "crispy taco shells with the flat bottoms for balance-challenged"? Are they just begging to puncture your upper palate or is it just me?
