Fruit and Vegetable intake

I recently read an article on The New Scientist that briefly discussed the possibility of a raise in daily recommended fruit and vegetable consumption. Instead of the usual 5-a-day mantra we're all so used to; they're now recommending 8 portions of fruit and vegetables per day to fully reap their benefits.

Do you think this is asking too much of the average Joe? Do you think 8 portions of fruit and vegetables per day is a reasonable amount for an omnivore like most of us?

How many portions of fruit and vegetables do you currently eat every day?

What is keeping you from eating fruits and vegetables?
