I just took some candied orange peels off the stove to drain, and now I have 5 cups worth of orange flavored sugar syrup. Feels like a waste to throw it out -- is there anything I could do with it?

btw, the orange peels look magnificent -- it's my first candy making endeavor and I'm ridiculously proud of myself! Thanks to those of you who suggested making them, I'm sure they'll be a hit on Christmas :)
