I got to thinking about this and always wanted to pick the minds of SE readers. Have you ever "invented" or used a non-kitchen utensil/tool for a cooking purpose?

(i.e. dental floss to truss a bird, though that's rather common)

I'm sure someone here's been like Macgyver in a pinch!
