Belgian or classic waffle maker??

So my boyfriend is buying me a waffle maker from Williams Sonoma for Christmas. Miracles! Can't wait. Only thing is, I can't for the life of me decide if I should get the classic round waffle maker or Belgian square one. I plan to make overnight waffles from Mark Bittman and sourdough waffles wth my starter, yeast-raised ones for the most part. And I'd like to make waffled French toast that I read about yesterday. Please clue me in on which maker to buy and kindly explain your reasons.

ps. Belgian waffles are often dry when I've had this par for their course? Or was I doomed to have overdone ones each time?
