First time gravy maker

So tomorrow I am making my first gravy. It will be the only gravy at dinner so it needs to be edible and preferably delicious. Please give me any tips, and/or fool-proof recipes, for making gravy!! So far all I know is make a standard roux, whisking in broth, and then after that I am lost. Please help!! The simpler the recipe, the better (but still tasty!)
