SE peeps, it's that time of the year when we set the clock back an hour (this coming Saturday night/Sunday morning). A blessed hour of more sleep or for some an extra hour of partying. Regardless, around here when it's time to adust the clock from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time (and vice verse), the fire departments have the word out to replace the batteries on your smoke detectors. I also thought it might be worth mentioning that we need to know how to use fire extinguishers in the kitchen. Do you have one? What kind of fires can it put out? Do you know how to use it? Does your family know how to use it? If it's not working--what would you use? Salt? Baking soda? And also, when should you call 911? I know it's not the most cheerful subject, but it is important. So let's hear a bit of what you all do in your household as far as fire safety.
