The Los Angeles Times ran a great piece today about the Mendez family who runs a small company specializing in traditional Mexican candy for Día de los Muertos with intriguing ingredients such as tamarind and calabaza. Reading about all of this candy-making got me thinking about another candy-centric holiday that's right around the corner. Take a wild guess...

Halloween!

For this week's Weekend Cook and Tell we're tackling a topic that can be a little spooky for some: homemade candy. This week we want you to break out the candy thermometers and chocolate molds to concoct your own confectionery creations. Brittle, fudge, or even homemade candy corn, as long as it's sugary sweet, and Halloweeny we want to hear all about it!
