My vanilla smells like booze
I just made several bottles of vanilla from several varieties of beans. I marinated them in vodka for two months and I bottled them this evening- and when I took a sniff, all I could smell was the vodka, rather than the aromatic vanilla.
I'm letting the vanilla age in the bottles (but with no beans) for another two months before I give them as christmas gifts. Will this mellow the booze smell? What can I do?
