Browning meringue

Hi all. I'm going to be making a lemon meringue cake (http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/lemon-meringue-cake) but the recipe calls for browning the meringue with a torch, and I don't have one.

Is there a way for me to do this without a torch? Put it under the broiler and watch it like a hawk? Put it in the oven at a high temp?
