At the Grocers..Do you taste-test fruits/food before buying?

I almost always eat a single grape before buying a bunch. I have had friends get confronted by the manager while eating a whole apple as they continued shopping.

How about you? Do you taste a sample before buying or eat from a bag on your way to the check-out counter? Maybe consume something other then a simple grape? What's your story? It could also be about someone you observed at the grocery store.

I know we are on the honor system when we decide to taste-test something we fully intend to pay for, but is it legit to taste something sold by weight and then not buy it? Or are you so honest that you tell the check-out clerk to add a little extra for whatever you have consumed? I want to hear what you have to say.
