Well... it looks like we might be taking a road trip to Chicago. We used to live there, so we're fine on where to go and what to eat when we arrive, but does anyone have any suggestions on interesting food along the way? We'll probably take a more leisurely trip there, and if it takes an extra day, that's fine. On the way back, we'll have more time constraints, not to mention coolers full of chilled and frozen food :-)

I've taken that drive twice and all I can remember is that it takes about a year to get from one end of Nebraska to the other.
