Recommended reading/viewing for a kitchen novice?

Afternoon, SE. Ive been a fan of the site for a while, but ive loved food all my life. I recently began taking a more active stance on my fitness and nutrition, which has given me the opportunity to start experimenting in the kitchen, as I prepare my own meals now, mostly. Im no expert, but im not completely useless either. Ive managed to throw together some pretty good stuff, and id love to learn more.

So, basically, im asking if anyone can recommend me a sort of guide, or introduction to cooking. Learning terms, techniques, tips, etc. It doesnt have to be THAT basic, but id love to learn more and broaden my culinary horizons. I can see cooking becoming a very big thing in my life. I know eating is. Haha. Thanks in advance.
