Eating Out
What should we eat and visit in France/Europe?
My boyfriend and I are off to France this Friday! It'll be a decently long trip- 6/11 to 7/1 - and we are really excited!
He has some family in Autun, which is 3 hours east of Paris, who we can stay with, but we also expect to spend a lot of time in Paris and are also planning on taking some 1-3 day trips to other cities and countries.
I've read a lot of threads as well as David Lebovitz's blog about France such as specific restaurants to try, which all sound amazing, but we're probably going to do it more like 'as it comes' rather than specifically mapping out a place for dinner (unless you guys think it'll be really really good!). Both of us love bread, cheese, pastries, chocolate, and he likes wine.
Also- advice on things to do? We do like museums, but we're also the type that loves sitting in a park or on a bench somewhere with a book while people-watching, so we're up for busy days as well as chill, relaxed days. What will we need to wear?
I'd love some recommendations on a 'day plan' or a 'short trip plan' as to what we could do, see, and eat.
Also, what should/can we bring back? We're college students here at MIT and this is such an incredible break away from school-we want to make it last!
And lastly- how much might we expect to spend on different things? I've toured Austria and Russia with my orchestra, and Austria was vastly more expensive than Russia.
Can't wait to read your responses to any of my queries or just comments in general! Thanks so much!
