Is anyone else against uncalled for abbreviations when ordering?

Is saving three more syllables going to make you less hungry?

"We would like to order some 'aps'", or "I'll have the chicken 'parm'"....

It makes me cringe. What's your take? Am I just being old fashioned? (Or shall I say "O-fash")?

(BLT is the only acceptable abbreviation in my book when ordering).

What say you?
