Blood type diet - anyone tried it?

I recently got hit up by a trainer at the gym and she convinced me to do a free session. During that time she mentioned that she'd do the exercises and we'd also talk about the foods I eat. She mentioned that there are diets based on your blood type - which I had heard about already - and she seemed really excited. When I got home, I looked online for my blood type and then discovered that....

I wouldn't be able to eat things like avocados and strawberries! And legumes!!! And wheat!!!!!! And CORN!!!!!!! Aaaaagggghghgh!!!

The diet didn't gain much credibility in my eyes, mostly because I like to eat food too much to restrict my diet just because of this so-called benefit. But I am curious if anyone else has heard of this diet, or has tried it, and what the outcome has been. I have heard many mixed reviews.

Finally, I'm not looking to diet to lose weight. It's more that my energy has been low and I'm looking for natural ways to improve that. I already eat organic and fairly healthy so I'm curious about other things to do. Thanks all!
