Weekend Cook and Tell: Let the Grilling Begin!

Welcome to the Weekend Cook and Tell. Every Wednesday we page through the food sections of various national newspapers to create a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.

With Memorial Day Weekend coming up and with it the unofficial inaugural day of grilling season, this week's challenge is all about dusting off those barbecues and getting your grill on. We want to hear all about what you are cooking up this weekend in the great outdoors, be it burgers, dogs, juicy steaks, or a selection of spring vegetables.

The newspaper food sections are chock full of great grilling ideas if you need inspiration. Over at The New York Times Mark Bittman has all sorts of ideas for atypical burgers including a Pork Fennel Burger and a Beef Tartare Burger. The Boston Globe tackles all of your meat on a stick needs with great ideas for kebabs, and the New Orleans Times-Picayune shares tips for lightening up your Memorial Day cookout.
