Serious Eats: Talk
Last night at work, two staff brought me back a treat from their dinner outing. (Sweet job, I know!)
I immediately parked myself so that I could scarf down the most delicious french fries I have ever eaten. They were from a local drive-in that is only open during the summer months. I pass this establishment on my way to work all winter, fantasizing about the french fries.
They are freshly cut, skin-on, heavenly bits of delight. Full of potato flavor, some crispy outside, all wonderfully moist inside. Served unsalted, I eat some virgin, others with salt, yet more with ketchup. Vinegar also receives an occasional invitation.
What are some of your must-have foods that are only available seasonally? Or only from one restaurant?
