Bake Sale Leftovers
I'm involved with a Great American Bake Sale event and the person running it has asked if I have any ideas what to do with any leftovers after the sale. Of course, we're hoping everything sells out, but chances are there will be some stray items left.
She has already contacted the local shelters and similar places, but they won't take anything that was prepared in a home kitchen. We have a few items coming from local businesses, but most of it is home-baked.
It would be nice to give them to a charity of some sort, but if that's not possible, then the next goal would be to send them somewhere they'll be appreciated and eaten rather than having them thrown away.
In theory, they could be an office treat for someone, but the sale is on Saturday, so it's not like someone could take them to work the next day.
Any ideas, Serious Eaters?
