I while back we talked about family recipes we wish we had. But what recipes have been handed down to you that you're particularly glad to have. Not necessarily handed down from your own family, but recipes that someone cooked from memory that wasn't from a cookbook. And now you've learned the recipe.
For me, the best is a cream of tomato soup that my mother made. Second is a tomato-cabbage dish. I've never seen or heard of a similar dish anywhere else. And third would be my mother's spaghetti sauce. I guess she liked tomatoes. From my dad, it was a mushroom dish with sour cream. And from an ex-inlaw, it was biscotti.
