Regional French Foods
As I study regional French foods and the history behind them I am finding that wines from the region itself is an excellent complement. For example Goat cheese of the Loire Valley Goes well with the Chenin Blancs of the region, of which there are many. Quiche Lorraine with the Gewurtstraminer wines of the region. Fun to study the history of each too.Quiche introduced by the German Kingdom of the 9th Century and goat cheese by the Islamic conquest of the Saracens during the 8th Century A.D.
