Welcome to the Weekend Cook and Tell. Every Wednesday we make our way through the food sections of various national newspapers to create a weekend cooking project. We hope you will cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.
This week our inspiration comes from Ian Daly of The New York Times who penned the piece, Just Like Mombot Used to Make this week. He journeys to Carnegie Mellon University to report on the Jetsons-like robots that cook, bake, steam, boil, and fry to the specifications of their human creators.
Most of us don't have cooking robots but many avid home cooks do have an artillery of gadgets, appliances, and machines. Be it a food processor, stand mixer, or cappuccino frother, our shelves are lined with instruments designed to make food preparation a bit easier.
For this week's challenge we want all of you to dust off some of your cooking gadgets for a weekend cooking project. Whether it's a little used ice cream maker, bread machine, automated pasta maker, or even an immersion circulator we want to hear all about your adventures with cooking technology.
