I am looking for a good, entry-level, all-purpose Asian cookbook. But the myriad of choices is so confusing - fusion stuff, "celebrity cooks" wannabe's, etc. I just want to learn the best ways to understand and make the basics - spring rolls, fried rice, soups, etc. from someone reliable and realistic, as in, nothing over the top. I am not into exotica or long marathons in the kitchen.
If anyone can recommend something good, I'd appreciate it!
