Frugal Item to bring to Casual Party

So I'm going to a very casual party and want to bring something to share. Something nibbly, maybe a sweet treat, as most other people will probably be bringing beer or chips and salsa or something. Problem is, I'm on a very tight budget and can't really go out and buy any ingredients (or many).

I'm thinking shortbread or biscotti, maybe some other cookie recipe that requires very little except the basics. Does anyone have any good recipes for simple, yummy treats?
