I remember that my mother always had a bottle of chili sauce in the fridge. But I'm having a hard time recalling what she did with it except for mixing it with cream cheese and stuffing celery with it, or mixing it with cream cheese and thinning it with milk to make chip dip.
And if there's an confusion, I'm talking about the stuff that's kind of like ketchup, not a spicy chili-laden hot sauce.
She might have used it in sloppy joes. But other than that, I have no ideas....
Personally, I use it when I make the occasional Thousand Island Dressing, but I'm wondering if there's some killer use for this common condiment that I'm missing out on.
