I was reading the veggie burger taste test, but not all too interested as veggie burgers don't strike my fancy. However, I am curious in the "chicken" department. The fat in beef is one part that makes a burger so good and flavorful, and thus will never be found in a faux burger. With chicken being so lean and rather tasteless for it ( which is why it's such a nice blank slate to flavor with anything), I think that all the faux chicken meats need to do is copy texture.
So I'm dying for something boneless chicken wing like people. I'm a cheap college student and not interested in trying several different brands just for something comforty and not all too nutritious. So I'm pulling on your collective experience for suggestions.
I noticed some people mention Morning Star stuff, but do they only make a nice chicken sandwich or do they have something boneless chicken wing like with hot sauce?
Or should I just make my own seitan and try a chicken nugget recipe + hot sauce?
