How do you organize your recipe collection?

Every home cook probably has dreams of compiling an heirloom box of recipe cards that future generations can refer to and swoon over, but is it still practical to write or print out individual instructions for dishes you have cooked and liked?

I started with handwritten ones on index cards, but now I find myself referring to books and blog posts more often, so they're already written down. I kind of miss that connection with what I cook, and am thinking of starting up again, including notes about when I've made a particular dish and whether or not it was a success.

How do you keep, organize or archive your recipe catalog?
