Food

how did you learn to cook?

Was it TV, your grandmother, a friend, a cookbook, or...sheer desperation?

For me it began when I started reading M.F.K. Fisher. That led to Julia Child and Molly Katzen (this was 20 years ago), and from there I started watching how older women I knew cooked - amazing variety in styles reflecting their temperament and ethnic backgrounds. I feel I owe them much.
