Top Chef cookbooks

I was at the local bookstore and saw the Top Chef quickfire cookbook, and for once, a Top Chef book wasn't shrinkwrapped (Why do they do that? I'm not gonna buy a cookbook unless I can look through it first...). Anyway, it looked kind of interesting, but I wasn't buying right then.

The deal is, I've never seen the show, so I don't know if the quickfire recipes would be better or worse than anything else. And I know there are other Top Chef cookbooks, which always seem to be shrinkwrapped. (I mean, come on...French Laundry is out there on the shelf, naked, but Top Chef is all wrapped and protected?)

So, for anyone who's seen the show or used the cookbooks, any opinions on which might be more interesting to cook from?
