Silpat/ parchment paper Buche de Noel question

Hi everyone! I am making a Buche de Noel to take to the hubby's office party. Unfortunately, I just realized there isn't enough parchment paper to line the jelly roll pan. It is raining cats and dogs here and I REALLY don't want to go out. But I will if necessary. Shudder and shiver. lol

Is it possible to use a silpat liner rather than the parchment paper? I know they are interchangeable when it comes to cookies but what about a cake? I'm worried that it will adversely affect the texture. Any opinions? Thanks so much. :-)
